The Vice-Chancellor of Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, Professor Flora Tobolayefa Oluwafemi, has been honored with the prestigious COLBIOS Role Model and Ambassador Award. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, March 9, 2026, at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
The award was presented during the 4th edition of the Biosciences Conference, hosted by the College of Biosciences (COLBIOS). This year’s theme, “Integrating Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence, and Genomics for Sustainable Agriculture, Food Security, and Natural Product Discovery,” drew a distinguished crowd of researchers, industry experts, and scholars.
Professor Oluwafemi was selected for the award in recognition of her exceptional leadership and her significant contributions to research and innovation within the Biosciences. This latest accolade further cements her reputation as a formidable force in the global academic community.
