The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEE) recently celebrated its 40th anniversary and hosted the 20th edition of ICEPT 2024
The conference featured a variety of engaging programs, including technical paper presentations, the 17th Fellowship Conferment Ceremony, an award ceremony, the launch of the Chartered Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Nigeria (CIEEEN) logo and officials, a Spouse Gala Night, and a student section themed: “Innovate for Impact: University Product Innovation Challenge.”
The student section included a workshop and project presentation, where students from various universities competed. The final day of the competition was held at Haris Hotel, Abuja. Among the participants were cadets from the Nigerian Maritime University, representing the university and the NIEEE Warri Chapter.
Atuegbe God’stime Ehischioya won first place in the pitch presentation with his project titled *“An Automated Electric Fish Dryer with Solar Backup”*. He was awarded a plaque and a certificate of recognition. Okonkwo Charles Chukwudalu secured second place with his project titled *“A Smart IoT Wastebin Detection System for Effective Waste Collection with an Optimized Route”*, and he received a certificate of recognition.
Among the dignitaries present were Engr. Felix O. Olu (FNIEEE), President and Chairman-in-Council, and Engr. Felix Adegboye (FNIEEE), Deputy President.
