If you have ever experienced a sudden sharp pain around your heart, come around!!

You're lying down peacefully, then suddenly you feel a sharp, tight pain on the left side of your chest. It hurts even more when you try to sit up, raise your head, or take a deep breath. Scary, right?

The good news is that this isn't always a sign of a heart attack.
One common cause is *precordial catch syndrome* ;a harmless condition that causes a sudden, stabbing chest pain, especially in teenagers and young adults. The pain often gets worse when you breathe in deeply and usually disappears within a few seconds or minutes.

Other possible causes include:
• Muscle strain or inflammation of the chest wall.
• Acid reflux (heartburn).
• Anxiety or stress.
• Less commonly, a heart or lung condition.

*When should you seek medical attention?*
Don't ignore chest pain if it:
- Lasts more than a few minutes or keeps coming back.
- Spreads to your arm, jaw, neck, or back.
- Happens with shortness of breath, sweating, nausea, or fainting.
- Occurs during exercise or physical activity.
- Is severe or feels like heavy pressure on your chest.

Not every chest pain is a heart problem, but every persistent or severe chest pain deserves to be taken seriously.
