Katsina Police Foils Bandit Attack, Rescues Five Victims

atsina State, Nigeria – Katsina State police operatives have successfully thwarted two bandit attacks and rescued five kidnapped victims in the Malumfashi local government area.

In a statement released by the command's spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, on Monday, it was revealed that the police also neutralized two bandits during the operations.

The first incident occurred on Sunday when bandits attacked a village and abducted five individuals. Responding swiftly to a distress call, police officers engaged in a gun battle with the assailants, rescuing all five victims unharmed. Two bandits were killed in the encounter.

Later that day, another group of armed bandits attempted to attack a village in Malumfashi. Despite the heavy rainfall, police forces intercepted the attackers and engaged them in a fierce gunfight, foiling their plans. Two bandits were killed in this confrontation.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, praised the exceptional bravery and dedication of the police officers involved in the operations. He reaffirmed the command's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Katsina State residents.
